As Senior Associate of Aztec Group, Inc., Rachel Chang provides consultation on debt and equity investments, underwrites commercial real estate transactions (primarily for the hospitality industry), and analyzes first- (in-house ownership) and third- (brokerage) party deals. Additionally, she provides portfolio asset management on residential and hospitality properties. Ms. Chang is also responsible for hotel investor relations - including asset disposition, distributions, bookkeeping, and record keeping.
Ms. Chang currently holds a Commercial Real Estate Appraisal license with the State of Florida, specializing in hotels, but having previously appraised a broad range of commercial properties such as office, industrial, retail, land, and multi‐family; in addition to special assignments involving Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), construction loans, and feasibility studies. She was also on the FDIC Appraisal Review Team. Companies she previously worked with include Cushman & Wakefield, Colliers International, and Capstone Valuation.
Born in Chicago, Illinois of Chinese-Jamaican heritage, Ms. Chang has spent most of her life in Florida, where she graduated from Florida International University with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Hospitality Management (in 2001 and 2005, respectively).
