Peter Mekras

As a Manging Director of Aztec Group, Inc., Peter Mekras is responsible for sourcing multifamily investment sales, development and joint venture transactions.  Since joining Aztec in 2003, Mekras has been involved in over $1 billion in transactions representing over 12,000 multifamily units including the $46 million sale of Sabal Palm Apartments in Pompano Beach, the sale of Summer Landing Apartments in Lakeland, and the $27.5 Million sale of Palmetto Tower Apartments in Miami.

Prior to joining Aztec, Mekras was an Account Executive at Bayview Financial Trading Group, LP.  Mekras was consistently recognized as a top producer in his division within a company responsible for originating approximately $750 million in annual commercial real estate loans. Previous to joining the sales force at Bayview, Mekras worked as a Transaction Analyst in Bayview’s commercial lending division and was responsible for underwriting over $115 million in commercial real estate transactions.

Mekras holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Real Estate Finance from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. Mekras has been a South Florida resident for 30 years, is a former member of the board of directors for the non-profit JunTos Foundation, an active participant in the University of Miami Mentor Program, and is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson and Mortgage Broker in the State of Florida.
