Christopher Gathman

As Senior Hospitality Analyst at Aztec Group, Inc., Christopher Gathman is responsible for offering memorandum preparation, loan underwriting, asset management, investment analysis, financial modeling, property valuation, and market analysis. Since joining Aztec, Gathman has been involved in the sale of over $500 million in hotel assets.

Mr. Gathman originally joined Aztec in 2004 working on hospitality transactions, including the Fontainebleau Resort, Hawk’s Cay, and multiple select- and limited-service properties through South Florida. From 2007 to August 2008, Gathman worked with CB Richard Ellis Hotels as a Financial Analyst, returning to Aztec in August 2008. Prior to joining Aztec in 2004, Gathman was a Hospitality Real Estate Analyst at Integra Realty Resources - Chicago. Gathman was responsible for preparing hotel and other property appraisals and compiling and analyzing hotel market information. Mr. Gathman has been involved in valuations having an aggregate value of over $500 million. Notable projects have included multiple valuations of the 1,544-room Hilton Hotel and Towers - Chicago, analysis for the arbitration of the Drake Hotel – Chicago ground lease, valuation of St. Joseph’s College – Rensselaer, Indiana, and numerous limited-service hotel valuations in the Chicagoland area. Gathman has also acquired considerable experience in hotel operations and restaurant management with Loews Hotels, SushiSamba, and the Statler Hotel.

Christopher Gathman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University and is currently the Secretary of the Cornell Hotel Society - South Florida Chapter. Mr. Gathman also serves as a volunteer guardian for the State of Florida Guardian Ad Litem program. Gathman completed the requirements for a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate license in 2005.
